Frequently asked questions
Where is your practice based and what is your availability?
My practice is located on the second floor of a discrete building on Upper Street, in the heart of Islington, not far from St Mary's Church. This location is easily reached from Angel, Highbury & Islington, and Essex Road stations, and is on numerous bus routes connecting Islington with the surrounding neighborhoods in Central, North and East London.
I see clients at the following times:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: Afternoons and evenings.
Thursday: Mornings.
Do you work online?
My practice is primarily in-person at my rooms in Islington. While I do not offer purely online therapy or a "remote-only" service, I can accommodate the occasional session via Zoom when a scheduling conflict or travel issue prevents you from attending a planned session in person.
What kind of commitment do I have to make?
To maintain the momentum of our work, I ask for a weekly commitment. I have found that a consistent, reliable rhythm is essential for building the kind of relationship where meaningful change can occur. For this reason, I am currently unable to accommodate fortnightly, monthly, or ad hoc sessions.
While the frequency is fixed, the duration of our work is entirely up to you.
Short-term: Some people find that a few months of focused exploration is what they need.
Long-term: Others value an ongoing, open-ended space over several years.
Because my approach is fundamentally the same regardless of the timeframe, we will check in regularly to see how the process feels for you. You remain in control of your journey, and you are always free to decide when you feel ready to bring our work to a close.
What do you charge, do you offer a sliding scale, and what about concessions?
I offer an initial exploratory session free of charge at my practice in Islington. If we decide to work together, my standard fee for ongoing weekly work is £90 per 50-minute session. I believe that therapy should be accessible where possible, so I offer the following options:
Sliding Scale: I operate a sliding scale starting from £70 for mid-morning and afternoon slots for those who may struggle with the full rate. We can discuss your specific circumstances during our first meeting to find a sustainable way forward.
Concessionary Slots: I also hold a limited number of concessionary slots available for those in specific financial circumstances (such as students or those on a low income). Please contact me directly for current availability and further details regarding these slots.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because your session time is held exclusively for you, I require 7 days notice to cancel a session. If a session is cancelled late or missed, the full session fee remains payable. Where possible, I will try to offer an alternative time during the same week, though this depends on room and schedule availability.
